Volunteering

The best part of caring is being there.

By simply sharing a story, singing a song, or lending an ear, you can change a life. When you bring joy and comfort into someone’s heart, you experience the power of volunteering. Chicago Methodist Senior Services recruits and trains volunteers who are committed to supporting, improving, and enhancing the lives of older adults. When you volunteer with us, you help make residents’ days better.

Even if you don’t have much time to share, we’ll work to find volunteer opportunities that fit your interests and schedule. From computer class instruction, planning movie nights, and leading history discussions to supporting our art therapy, pet therapy and music programming, we offer many flexible options for getting involved.

If you’re interested in being out in the community, consider our Senior Connections program.  In this volunteer role, you are matched with one senior whom you visit in their home on a weekly basis. Read more here.

Please note that a background check is required for all ongoing individual volunteers.
