Volunteer opportunities for everyone

By simply sharing a story, singing a song, or lending an ear, you can change a life. When you bring joy and comfort into someone else’s heart, you experience the power of volunteering. Chicago Methodist Senior Services recruits and trains volunteers who are committed to supporting, improving, and enhancing the quality of life for older adults by helping them to live life to the fullest. When you volunteer with CMSS, you make residents’ days better.

Regardless of how much time you have to share, we welcome your interest. From computer class instruction, planning movie nights, and leading history discussions to supporting our art therapy, pet therapy and music programming, volunteer opportunities here are flexible and customized, based on your interests and schedule.

Please note that drug screenings and background checks are required for all individual volunteers. To download a volunteer application, please click here.

Opportunities for groups

In addition to individual volunteers, we have opportunities for groups. Volunteering with your company or organization is a meaningful way to foster teamwork and camaraderie, and we always welcome these groups at CMSS. If you are interested in spending a day or a few hours volunteering as a group, please contact Ann Brennan at 773-596-2234 or ann.brennan@cmsschicago.org.

Internships

CMSS partners with local universities to offer internship opportunities. For questions related to coordinating an internship or establishing a partnership with your school, please contact Human Resources at 773-596-2229 or humanresources@cmsschicago.org.
