The Hartwell Place Day Club offers adults living with dementia a welcoming place to spend the day and return home at night. Located in Andersonville, on Chicago’s northside, Hartwell Place Day Club members enjoy meaningful programming and support, while their families enjoy respite and peace of mind. By focusing on the individual—who they are, what interests them, and what matters most to them—we help Day Club members live with friendship and a sense of belonging. Our unique program is small and personalized, dedicated to ensuring each member has purposeful, enjoyable days.

Day Club members pay a daily fee and we bill monthly. Monthly billing will be dependent on how many days a member joins each week. Please call Hartwell Place at 773-275-2400 to learn more about our rates.
The Day Club is open Tuesday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. We encourage members to join us at least two days a week so that they can become comfortable and familiar with the environment. Scheduling is flexible and can be adjusted to fit each member’s and family’s needs.
Hartwell Place offers 24-hour nursing services with a nurse always on duty. Our care givers are highly trained and experienced.
Yes. We provide a morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack at no additional cost.
Nutritious meals are prepared by Hartwell Place’s experienced team in the dining room. Day Club members enjoy meals alongside Hartwell Place residents. Meals are a community event at Hartwell Place.
For an additional cost, members and their families can also choose to take home a warm to-go evening meal.
CMSS is proud to be one of the first organizations in Chicago to specialize in memory care. We have been caring for people living with dementia for more than 100 years. Our experienced team members receive regular, extensive training in memory care. With expert leadership, the team’s goal is to help each person in our care live well and feel loved. The Day Club is led by a dedicated coordinator who focuses on ensuring every member has meaningful, enjoyable days.
At this time, Hartwell Place does not provide transportation to Day Club members. In the case of an outing during the day, Hartwell Place will provide transportation. Hartwell Place has free street parking and a convenient designated drop-off and pick-up zone.
Hartwell Place is in the heart of Andersonville, in Chicago, but welcomes Day Club members from all over the city and nearby suburbs. Many Day Club members come to us from surrounding neighborhoods like Edgewater, Uptown, Rogers Park, Lincoln Park, Lincoln Square, Lakeview, Gold Coast, Albany Park, and Avondale and from nearby suburbs including Evanston, Skokie, Niles, Schaumburg, Highland Park, Lake Forest, Wilmette, and Winnetka.

The Long-Term Care Equality Index (LEI) is the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey of residential long-term care and senior housing which promotes equitable treatment and inclusion for LGBT+ residents, visitors, and employees. The LEI recognized Hartwell Place as a High Performer for the second time.
